Arkle was the first mountain I went up after the first lockdown. It felt so exhilarating to be allowed out again. The weather had been so unusually summery that I felt compelled to convey the joy I felt in a painting of this unique hill. I particularly enjoyed painting the foxgloves, with their vivid magenta colours standing out against the green.
